Nigerian Afrobeat Female Superstar and the undisputed African Queen; Tiwa Salvage is at it again, as she makes a clear statement on the African music stage with another recently released track, Loaded. The track features the unshakeable talent of YBNL artist and the highly accomplished Nigerian raving sensation, Asake.
Asake, a new rave on the Afrobeats block, is known for an arresting melange of sounds that pulls from different styles of Afrobeats, Fuji music, amapiano, and the praise and worship songs which define the Celestial Church of Christ. The track loaded comes together seamlessly with the help of frequent collaborator Magicsticks.
When Asake flaunts that he’s “loaded,” he does so with a streamless and natural flow that compliments the production’s many crevices, like a river tracing a mountainside; there’s a topographical pleasure to feeling the music’s textures alongside the smoothest of vocal deliveries.
Tiwa Savage, in her usual sexiness, is cool, as she elevates the track with a celebratory self-love addressing her exposed sex tape that surfaced last year. “Who never fuck? Hands in the air,” she declares, pointing out the absurdity of the incident while interpolating a Black Sherif lyric.
Her show of appreciation for Shiita, a hood in Suru-Lere, stands out, as she declares their love for her is outstanding - Dem no dey use me play when I enter shitta o.
The numbers are definitely in favor of the superstar singer. In less than 24 hours after the release, ‘Loaded’, became the number one song on the Apple Music app. It also tallied over 20 million in radio reach four days before its official release, stated Vanguard Ngr.
Vanguard Ngr continued; Loaded also became the first song by a female Afrobeat singer to hit over 1 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release. Not done with breaking records, “Loaded” became the number-one song on Spotify a few hours after its release.
Truly, Tiwa Savage has shown once again, with her latest feat, that she’s still the queen of Nigeria’s music industry.
