The news of Ifeanyi, also known as Ejima, a Nigerian national, being
shot by Highrise Building, around SANS in Hilbrow, Johannesburg, on Saturday,
July 8, 2023, around 7:30 pm, filtered through the Nigerian community, with
rumors of cult-related.
The issue was reported to the Taskforce on the Murder of Nigerians by
Nigerians in South Africa. Members of the Taskforce swung into action to
investigate and unravel the incident, ensuring that the perpetrators were
handed over to authorities.
The Taskforce can assure Nigerians that the shooting of Ejima has
nothing to do with cultism or a Nigerian. It is a tragic robbery case in which
the lady's shop next to him was robbed, and he tried to help her. He was shot
in the process. They rushed Ejike to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead
at around 1.30 PM. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
The Taskforce urges Nigerians to be law-abiding citizens who conduct
themselves in accordance with the laws of the land.
The Taskforce also takes advantage of this opportunity to remind
Nigerians that the case of the five Nigerians who murdered Mr. Alexander
Chukwuwbuni (AKA Boye) has not been forgotten. We urge anyone with information
about their whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or a member of
the Taskforce.
Signed,
Taskforce Committee.
